If the Giants have got you down this season, we suggest turning your attention to the Jaliscos, the Tacolicious-sponsored baseball team entering the three-game championship next week. Part of a rec league, the Jaliscos have gathered some fierce players from our restaurants, such as:
• Miguel! (infield and designated hitter, also seen bussing tables at our Valenica Street location)
• Pablo! (designated hitter, also seen bussing tables at North Beach)
• Geronimo! (infield/first base, also seen bussing tables at North Beach)
• Jared! and Jacob! (the two white guys who have infiltrated this otherwise Mexican league, also seen bartending at Valencia Street)
Though most Sunday mornings, it’s Tecates and sunflower seeds, sometimes the families bring homemade tamales (“Like 100!” Jared reported) or shrimp cocktails. Garlic fries are so 1980. Take that AT&T park.
The Jaliscos play every Sunday at St. Mary’s Park at 10 am or 1 pm. We’re rooting for them!
